PG&E Wood Haul Program 1/12 Meeting and 1/31 Deadline
PG&E will begin implementing their Wood Haul Program with an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 12. The program is PG&E’s solution to a PUC complaint in response to CZU fire victim outrage at the utility’s post-fire tree removal operations.
The program is opt-in and application must be made by the property owner by January 31, 2022. Details on the program can be found here. And the application form can be found here. According to the County of Santa Cruz, up to 1200 properties may be impacted and should take advantage of the program.
In a PG&E press release, a spokesperson said, “With landowner permission, PG&E will begin the wood removal program in the coming weeks, weather and safety permitting. This includes planning and implementation steps to ensure the safety and success of the program, such as environmental review, site visits, landowner coordination, and resource management.”
PG&E work crews will provide identification. Property owners can contact PG&E directly at (877) 295-4949.
